Unlock costs
Candy needed for a cost-1 starter:
- Passive ability
- 40 🍬
- Cost reductions
- 25 / 60 🍬
- Same-species egg
- 30 🍬

- Friendship needed per candy
- 25
Expensive starters ask for fewer candies, but earn them far more slowly: Patrat needs 25 friendship per candy, while a cost-1 starter earns one every 25.

Esca27 days agoWhere you rank this mon depends on what you value on a tier list. It's undeniable that Patrat is a great mon to have unlocked on your account as it makes candy farming runs far easier. Want to actually maximize your chances at *winning* Classic, though? Patrat will do very little, sometimes even contribute negatively outright. You're going to bring this to a lot of candy farming teams (this or Tatsugiri) but your runs that you actually want to win reliably will not have Patrat on them. Double lure can be cool for Endless builds, but imo overrated, just fuse a wild lure onto another luremon

Esca27 days agoThe August 2025 addition of Instruct to its moveset means that Patrat can work even next to single-target attackers. Simply kill one mon, and have Patrat Instruct so you kill the other that same turn. Do keep in mind that it'll consume PP at twice the rate, so you may want a Honey mon or two in the back to buy Ethers.

Patrat's power is mostly known in Endless, but it's still great for candy farming doubles for free. Hypnosis + No Guard, Detect, and Fake Out are decent support moves, but Patrat otherwise won't carry its own weight, so only pair it with strong AOE-focused carries.
